Enjoying Your Las Vegas Vacation http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/enjoying-your-visit-las-vegas-vacation/ http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/enjoying-your-visit-las-vegas-vacation/#comments Wed, 26 May 2010 21:47:55 +0000 Eternal Traveler http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/?p=274 las vegas, nevadaWhat Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas … but it doesn’t have to! Why keep all the fun of your Las Vegas vacation a secret? This is a city full of exciting things to do, see and share!

Travelling to Las Vegas, Nevada is a real experience. Whether you are planning a weekend getaway for two; a family trip or a quick business visit, Las Vegas truly is the place to head for both fun and excitement.

Of course there are a few things to consider when planning your next trip to the desert:

Getting There: Depending on where you are travelling from and how much money you have to spend there are several ways to get into Vegas: by plane, train, bus and car.

Finding a Hotel: Hotels on the strip can be quite pricey, although they often do offer a unique lodging experience. If you are looking for a nice place to stay without the high price tag, consider finding a hotel off the main strip. They are often cheaper (and quieter).

Planning Your Itinerary: No matter how much time you have for your visit, the odds are you will not be able to do even half of what you would like while in Vegas. Be sure to make a list of all must-do activities and sightseeing adventures and tackle those items first. Also, make reservations for important activities and popular restaurants well in advance of your trip. And don’t forget to check out the casino promos as well.

Having Fun: With so much to do and see in Las Vegas it can be difficult to know what to try first. Of course the casinos are chockfull of interesting fun of their own. But for a more family-friendly vacation, consider checking out some of these popular sights:

  • The Bellagio Fountain Show
  • The Las Vegas Motor Speedway
  • Springs Preserve
  • Lied Discovery Museum
  • Nevada Test Site Historic Center
  • The Hartland Museum
  • Mount Charleston
  • Red Rock Canyon National Park

Staying Safe: Like any big city, Las Vegas can offer some unique safety hazards to be aware of. Here are a few things to consider while visiting:

  • pickpockets are common on the streets so be careful when walking downtown (especially around crowds of people)
  • always use the deadbolt in your hotel room
  • the weather in Vegas can be very dry, so be sure to drink lots of water to stay hydrated
  • carry a photo ID at all times
  • ignore smut peddlers

Full of great places to eat, drink and party, Las Vegas can be a great place to kick back, let loose and enjoy some real adult fun. But, it is more than sin-city. Las Vegas is also a great place for families, catering to all sorts of demographic groups with this eclectic blend of casino fun and historic and stylish arts and museums.

Las Vegas Tourism http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/las-vegas-tourism/ http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/las-vegas-tourism/#comments Mon, 05 Apr 2010 12:28:52 +0000 Eternal Traveler http://www.bestlasvegastravel.com/?p=209 Las Vegas TourismWhen it comes to figuring out the next best greatest thing to offer in Las Vegas, marketing executives are going viral. During last year’s annual tourism convention, the heads of several of the city’s main attractions reported the use of social media venues like Twitter to boost Las Vegas tourism. Here are some of the suggestions they shared:

  • Brad Goldberg, vice president of marketing for Luxor reported that his company uses the 11,000 plus Twitterers that visit his property to get instant feedback on their visit. “It was a way of trying to develop a better relationship, a different kind of relationship with potential customers,” he said at the conference.
  • Planet Hollywood’s tried the same tactic, using its 7,000-plus Twitter followers for feedback on a room promotion idea. Within two days the hotel reported that the promotion became the resort’s most successful marketing scheme in its history.
  • Last year MGM Grand used Twitter to boost a successful promotion called “Get Rewarded for your Sins,” where they encouraged visitors to tweet their Vegas mishaps with the hope of winning free

Trying to find new and more innovative ways to promote their venues without the high cost of traditional advertising, these Las Vegas Tourism specialists may have just found the newest and best way to get the word out about their promotions without shelling out millions of advertising dollars.
