When you are new to town, you may be wondering how to get around Las Vegas without getting lost – or worse yet, ripped off by an unscrupulous cabbie. Here are a few travelling tips when making your way along the Strip and beyond:

• Consider Walking. If you are staying on the Las Vegas Strip and are planning on visiting entertainment or eating venues in the same area, than by all means hoof it. Walking to and from your destinations can offer a unique perspective on the town.
• Rent a Car. Depending on your budget and your comfort level, renting a car may be a good option. Having your own vehicle is especially useful if you are planning on visiting any surrounding sites during your visit.
• Take a Free Shuttle. Las Vegas offers a number of free shuttle services that come and go almost non-stop throughout the day and evening. Of course most of the shuttles depart from casino entrances, but that’s okay since most of the other attractions you will likely want to get to are either in or near the casinos.
• Hail a Cab. Although this may be your most expensive option, taking a cab where you want to go can sometimes be the easiest. There’s no need to battle traffic on your own and familiarize yourself with an area.

Figuring out how to get around Las Vegas isn’t difficult as long as you figure out what you need; what you can afford; and what you are comfortable with when it comes to transportation during your trip. Than it is just a matter of picking the best mode for you and your family.
