When people think of Las Vegas, there first thought is of either gambling or spectacular shows. While these are two of the main attractions to the city, there are many other things to do in Las Vegas. Here is just a sampling of what this eclectic town has to offer:

• Historic Sites: Las Vegas houses about half a dozen great historic sites including the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, which was the first building erected in the town in 1855. Called the birthplace of Las Vegas, it is a great place to begin any historic tour of the city.
• Family Fun: Whether your family loves roller coasters or arcades, there is plenty to do while visiting the city with kids. Be sure to check out Adventurdome for some thrill rides; Mandala Bay for a free aquarium tour or Cirquel de Solei for a great acrobatic show.
• Outdoorsy Adventure: Whether you want to climb the trails of Mount Charleston or just want to enjoy the colorful rock formations at the Red Rock Canyon, there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had in Las Vegas. Helicopter rides and horseback riding are just two of the adventures you can take. Plus there’s plenty of hiking trails to enjoy.
• Rest & Relaxation: When you think of Las Vegas you may not first think of relaxing, but rest assured there are places in and sound the city that offers those quiet moments too. Hartland Mansion is a nice place to go for a quieter afternoon of touring, offering a nice historic house to view. Mount Charleston too is considered a quiet retreat area for leaving the sights and sounds of Las Vegas behind.

As you can see, there are plenty of things to do in Las Vegas besides gambling, show-going or even shopping. Whether you are single person out for an exciting nightlife; a businessman looking for something relaxing to do after work; or a young family who must keep their children’s need and interest in mind, Las Vegas offers an eclectic array of activities to enjoy.
